Meet Our Staff

Rev. Chris Wilson • Pastor

I want to welcome you to Warrenton Baptist Church and tell you how excited I am that you are interested in our church! I have served as the pastor of this congregation since September 2023, and my hope and prayer is that you will find this church to be as inviting a place as I have found it to be. We are a congregation of people with various backgrounds and opinions, but we find our unity in the faith that we share in Jesus Christ. In the words of the Apostle Paul, there is “one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.” (Ephesians 4:5-6)

As pastor of this fine congregation, my preparation for this position includes serving in the area of children and youth ministry in three other congregations (Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Pittsboro, NC; First Baptist Church, Wilson, NC; and Rolesville Baptist Church, Rolesville, NC). I still have a heart for children and young people, but I thoroughly enjoy the work of pastoring, and I feel that I am doing the work to which God has called me. My educational experience includes graduating twice from Campbell University (BA, 2012; MDiv, 2016). I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree through Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology with an expected completion date of 2027. My wife Sarah and I live in Henderson, NC. She is also a graduate of Campbell University Divinity School and is an ordained minister as well. She ministers to hospice patients as a chaplain with Amedisys Hospice Care out of Franklinton, NC.
